Charly Thorn is a young, emerging designer (just 17) who creates versatile garments that can be dressed up or dressed down. From Cooma, New South Wales, Charly designs sophisticated pieces that are also simply elegant. Her fashion-forward garments are a perfect fit for chic, independent women. Charly’s collection is created using predominantly Merino wool and with sustainability in mind. Her clothes have been worn by supermodel Anneliese Seubert. Charly has always had fashion design in her blood. She designs for women of all ages—real women of real sizes, not for unrealistic body images. This is Charly Thorn’s debut appearance at FASHFEST.
Elle Hopwood specialises in day wear, formal wear, costumes and that ‘perfect little black dress’. She designs for women aged 18 to 81, of all personalities. Elle also specialises in designing and making garments that inspire women to feel amazing. She creates one-off pieces for customers after getting to know who they are and what they truly want. Elle loves fabrics that move and delight and is building a sound reputation for her corsetry work. Colour energises this designer, although her black and white pieces never fail to make a statement. This is Elle Hopwood’s debut appearance at FASHFEST.
Rasa Mauragis is passionate about using colour on cloth and inspired by the colours and textures of the environment she’s living in. From dyeing cotton fabrics, Rasa has progressed to exploring techniques and dye methods on silk, wool, linen, bamboo and synthetics. Since moving to the Snowy Region, Rasa has been seduced by the magic of dyeing. She creates dye baths from plants and eco prints on fabric and paper with eucalyptus, grevillea and, occasionally, exotic plants, vegetable plants and herb leaves. Rasa adores working with fibres as a dyer and creator of art quilts. This is Rasa Mauragis’ debut appearance at FASHFEST.
